We're excited to welcome back Boys & Girls Grades 2-12 for UDJAA Basketball!
Registration is now open for the 22-23 basketball season.
The travel program is for 4th-8th grade girls and boys. Travel tryouts will be starting in October, and intramural basketball begins play after Thanksgiving. The travel basketball season usually ends in early March.
Travel tryouts will include at least two or possibly three evaluations. Your child must attend at least one tryout to have a chance to make the team. At this point, we still are looking for people interested in coaching the girls' 4th and 8th grade travel teams.
The intramural program leagues for the girls are grades 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, and 8-12. The boys' intramural program includes grades 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12. Intramural practices will begin after Thanksgiving break. Games begin first week of January and run through mid-March.
Teams in our 2-3 grade intramural leagues are put together by the commissioner. We try to keep the teams organized by school, but sometimes the teams may be split. We can not take requests to be with any player. Siblings will be kept together.
Teams in our 4-12 grade intramural leagues are organized strictly by a draft. All players must have a rating to play in our program. All 4th and 5th graders will have to show up for an evaluation since they did not play last year. Players in older leagues who played last season do not have to be evaluated again. Players who are new to the program must get a rating in order to play.
Players who are on the JV basketball teams for girls and boys are allowed to play in our intramural program.
Please register as soon as possible. Regular registration will end Friday, October 7. If leagues fill up sooner, players will be placed on a wait list. After October 7, a late fee of $25 will be charged and placement is not guaranteed.
Our fees this year are $265 for travel and $140 for intramural. Financial aid is available if your family needs assistance.
If your son or daughter gets cut from travel and wants to play intramural, you will be refunded the difference between travel and intramural. If you should register for intramural, you can not try out for a travel team.
Just a reminder that after the teams are formed, there are no refunds if your child decides to drop out. If your child has another sport or commitment on the same day as our games, please make our league your priority. We try to include as many kids as possible and wouldn’t want anyone or any team to be affected by “no-shows.” Thank you for your consideration.
Our Intramural game days are as follows (times and locations TBD):
Girls and Boys 2-3
Girls and Boys 4-5
Presently, we need people to volunteer to serve as commissioner for Girls' 2-3, 4-5 and Boys 4-5 and 6-7.
The program cannot run without coaches, so please volunteer to be a head coach or assistant coach. Thank you in advance for your participation. Be sure to include your child's current grade, not last year's, when you register.
