2023-2024 Competition Cheer Tryouts

Tryouts for UDJAA Competition Cheer Teams will be held Tues-Friday, May 30-June 2 @ Maple Glen Elementary School (Caf) from 6-8 pm. Groups may be split up (timing) by age; this information will be sent out prior to tryouts.

A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Tues, May 23 @ 7 pm, at Maple Glen Elementary in the Cafeteria.

Cheerleaders will be considered for teams based on age, skill, focus, and enthusiasm.

ALL tryout participants MUST be registered and paid for competition cheer the night before tryouts begin to allow coaches to have access to a complete list of participants and contact info. Participants who are not registered at this time will not be allowed to participate.

Competition Cheer Tryouts are DROP-OFF. Please send your child in athletic apparel, cheer sneakers, hair up and secure, NO JEWELRY. If your child has RECENTLY pierced earrings that cannot be removed, he/she must be wearing band-aids on top of them OR we will be forced to remove them, for safety reasons. Cheerleaders should bring a water bottle.

IF a child is not placed on a competition team, a refund will be provided as soon as reasonably possible. Participants will then have the opportunity to register for Sideline Cheer, if they choose.

PLEASE NOTE- UDJAA Sports allow up to 25% of a team to be non-residents of Upper Dublin. If the number of non-residents registered for competition cheer exceeds the allowable limit, some may not make a team because of the residency restriction.

(Please also note- this does not mean the teams will necessarily take 25% of non-residents. The teams may take less or none, depending upon the participant’s scores.)

Competition Cheer Registration Fee is $350.

Competition Uniforms are a separate purchase and generally run around $200 for the skirt and top. Used uniforms may be available at half price.

The season runs through Feb and attendance policy is strict.

Mini and Youth teams will practice 2x a week.

Senior team will practice 3x a week.

ALL teams should expect an extra Friday night practice the weekend of a competition.

We expect to enter 4-5 local competitions, with some of our teams also attending Regionals and possibly Nationals.
