2023 SPRING VOLLEYBALL CLINICS

Greetings, everybody. I hope this e-mail finds you all doing well. If you have any questions regarding the program, please reach out to us at volleyball@udjaa.com.

We are excited to announce we will be holding Volleyball clinics again this spring.  One significant change is that most of the clinics will be held during the week in the early evening.  As many of you are aware most of our instructors initially participated in these clinics and started to play Club Volleyball and those clubs have frequent tournaments on weekends in April and May. In the Spring of 2022, we found it challenging to find consistent instructors on Saturday afternoons. We are doing our best to rotate the nights in which the clinics are held and two Saturday's are scheduled in May. I do stress the schedule is always subject to change, due to changes required from the school district

The first clinic is slated to be held on Thursday, April 13th at 6:00. Click here to register. The full series of clinics cost $70.

The clinics are intended for kids in 2nd grade through 8th grade who are beginner to intermediate skilled. For the beginners, we focus on teaching basic skills. For the intermediate players, we re-enforce the basic skills and teach court strategy.

The clinics will once again be led by local high school JV/Varsity and/or Club Players. The clinics are super flexible: come to all sessions, miss a session, stay for 90 minutes or just a portion. Our goal is simply to allow the kids to learn the sport of volleyball or learn more advanced skills.

The clinics will be held in the Main Gym at Upper Dublin High School and will be 90 minutes. All sessions are contingent of clinic leaders and availability - if the school team has a match or tournament we might need to move a session or two to a different night.

Equipment

  • 5th Grade and Under - it’s recommended to get a Volleyball Lite - Dick’s Sporting Goods sells one from Baden, Soft Light.
  • Middle School - any ball is fine. I would clearly not suggest spending a lot of money on the ball, which should cost (most likely) under $20.
  • Knee Pads - Completely optional, many of the older participants will wear them - but they are not required.
  • Water Only in the Gym Please.

Volunteers

  • While we have a great set of high school instructors, if you have played Volleyball and want to assist with the clinics please let us know.  Any help we can get in signing in the participants is appreciated and looking ahead and getting more parents involved will benefit the program.
